Bad Diet Meal Delivery Ala Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Etc.
Does anyone really believe that very rich celebrities are eating pre-packaged meals from the big weight loss corporations like Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers? Dan Marino and Queen Latifah have more than enough money to have real chef’s prepare them delicious low calorie meals that taste way better than any food that is made from a package. In this review we take a deeper look inside Nutrisystem. It is the biggest seller of pre-packaged diet foods, and so we did some research to see what people were saying.
In almost all of the reviews we read on consumeraffairs.com Nutrisystem customers complained about the food. Here’s what one client named Archie from Vancouver had to say:
“The food they send is no better than garbage. Not as advertised. All the food you need is included. Wrong. Suggested meal plan includes at least the same amount as they ship to be supplemented. Made me sick almost to the point of vomiting.”
And it seems that Archie wasn’t the only person actually made sick by Nutrisystem’s food. According to one Wisconsin native Florence:
“When I first started using the product I had severe gas and a constant headache for 2-3 days. I called and was told that the headache was probably due to cutting back on calories. I discontinued using the product on a daily basis about 3 weeks later.”
If customers weren’t complaining about the taste of Nutrisystem food they griped about the expensive cost and sometimes they did both like Ron Pueblo and his wife from Colorado:
“The meals are very hard to eat, all smell and taste the same. … We are out $587.44 and we have had gas from the first bite. I felt hungry all the time, ate the food because we had nothing else to eat and no money if we wanted to get something edible.”
Financial website Forbes.com lists Nutrisystem as one of America’s highest priced diet programs coming in at a whopping $132.52/week in food costs. Making Nutrisystem %108.5 percent more expensive than the average diet plan. On top of that Nutrisystem meals do not include all the food you need. You still have to supplement it with food from the grocery store.
All of this combined with frequent shipping and delivery problems makes the Nutrisystem plan very hard to follow. Clint Nunica of Michigan doesn’t quit easily but even he admitted this:
“My friends and family can never refer to me as quitting anything I set out to do but this has been the biggest waste of time and money in recent memory.“
If you are thinking of trying Nutrisystem we strongly advise you to choose a diet program that is more affordable and easier to stick with.
