Magical Fatty Foods That Kill Your Hungry Cravings
A new study out of the University of California, Irvine shows that foods high in unsaturated fat produce a chemical in your small intestine that tells your brain not to be hungry.
The compound called oleoylethanolamide or OAE regulates hunger and could be used as a starting point for new obesity medications. The oleic acid found in unsaturated fats is transformed into OEA by the upper parts of the small intestine where it triggers nerve endings to communicate to the brain a feeling of fullness.
While it’s wonderful that OEA may be used in the development of new weight loss medicines, how can you benefit from the research now in your own weight loss or weight management journey? By eating foods high in unsaturated fats of course! We’ve compiled a list of these magical foods that are high in those “good” unsaturated fats that not only leave you feeling full and satisfied after eating them, also have been shown to reduce cholesterol.
